Inking

I've officially become an ink dork and lately I have gone down a rabbit hole researching the various types of ink available for drawing and painting. It turns out that acrylic inks are very different to Indian inks, and then some inks have shellac added, which basically acts like a varnish. Some inks are made with Chinese ink sticks while others are made with carbon pigment. Certain inks dry waterproof while others do not. The ink which I prefer using now is black Indian ink made by Windsor & Newton because it's waterproof when dry, the pigment is really dark, and it has a matt finish. Most likely I'll be using a combination of inks though in my drawings and play to their individual strengths.
