Touchdown

An original character created by myself called Touchdown, copyright of Marcus Jose aka DoctorWestlake1984. Inktober day 30, prompt word catch. The concept of this character is as follows. Touchdown was originally called Ernie Marvin, nicknamed Marv, and he was a fantastic college American footballer with a scholarship. He has a promising future as a footballer and he is deeply in love with his girlfriend. One night when driving home alone from winning the championship game, he is stopped whilst driving by 4 thugs, members of the ice gang. A conflict ensues, and Ernie is stabbed to death. The whole town grieves for him. After his death his girlfriend moves on and is married to another. Ernie finds himself in the underworld, but his will is too strong for death to hold him. He returns to the earth plane as a wraith, an avenging destroyer, and his mission is to defend the innocent, so that what happened to him doesn't happen to others. Upon returning from the underworld he realises he has new found abilities far above humans, including spectacular agility, extreme power so that he is able to jump considerable distances and run through brick walls, and he is able to bench press a van. The primary weapon of Touchdown is a flaming football in which he can concentrate his rage into and use it as a projectile weapon against evil doers. Touchdown drives an immaculate black 1959 Ford Zephyr, with vast flames pouring out of the sports exhaust as he drives. He lives now to crush the forces of darkness in this world. When he defeats his enemies he does a fly Touchdown victory dance in triumph.
