Soundwave

Soundwave from the Transformers cartoon. Just to let people know, these drawings I'm making at the moment are prep work, trying to get my mind into the Transformers mindset, ready to make a start on the final piece. I hope to start this tomorrow. My Transformers artwork will mainly contain Autobots, with only a few Decepticons. I doubt I'll add Soundwave, but I wanted to make a drawing of him in preparation. Some advice for Artists, both young and old, is that Transformers are great practice to get better at drawing. Transformers are deceptively easy to draw. They may look like simple characters, but to draw them the Artist has to have a command of line work, use of shapes, due to the symmetry and simplicity of the characters any flaws will clearly show up in the drawings, and most importantly, drawing Transformers teaches the Artist how to draw 3D shapes in 3D space. Illustrating Transformers is great practice for myself and I'm enjoying getting more into researching the cartoon and toyline. The creators of the animation were certainly heavy hitters.
