Peony Flower

A sketch of a peony flower, which is part of a glazed fahau ceramic tile design from China. I made this drawing whilst at the British Museum in London, and the complete design is made up of 20 ceramic tiles, featuring lotus and peony plants, as well as dragons. The origin of these tiles is the Ming Dynasty during the 15th - 16th century, from the province of Shanxi.
