Sandworms

Shai Halud. Inktober day 3, prompt word bait. Took me a while to think of a drawing for this prompt word. For those of you who aren't familiar with Frank Herbert's stories, Dune is mainly set on a desert planet called Arrakis. On this planet gigantic sand worms exist and they are greatly revered by the people who live there called Fremen. To purposefully attract the worms of Arrakis, the Fremen use something called a thumper which creates vibrations. This is what is depicted in this illustration. Dune 1984 is one of my favourite films and I enjoyed listening to the soundtrack whilst drawing this. In the future I'd really like to create more of these sci fi type of pictures.
