The Phantom

"By the power of ten tigers!"

After some delay, I've returned to adding colour to this illustration of the Ghost Who Walks. The reason for the delay was, I wanted to go to the library to get some high quality scans first, so I can make black and white prints in the future.

In 1990 Marvel released a series of comic books called Spider-Man: Masques, and Todd McFarlane did the pencilling and inking, and Gregory Wright did the colouring. The artwork in this comic is incredible, and Gregory Wright used white a yellow light on the characters, to give them more variation and form. I'm using this same lighting technique when colouring this drawing of the Phantom, and I like this method because the colours look more interesting, and less flat.
