Afghani Soldiers

Soldiers in Afghanistan. I watched Rambo 3 for the first time this year and the film features Afghani soldiers. I can't believe I only watched this film for the first time this year. The film is accurate in that it portrays the Afghani soldiers being as hard as coffin nails. At that time Rambo 3 had the biggest movie budget ever, and it shows. (SPOILERS) It was made in 1988 and what I like about 80s films is they didn't use CGI. Haha so what this means is, when a film like Rambo 3 needed a giant authentic Russian war helicopter, they actually flew in a giant authentic Russian war helicopter for filming. My favourite scene in the film is when there is a large fight sequence going on in a village, and everyone has been dropped, except for....You guessed it, Stallone. There is an unmanned minigun turet, and John J. Rambo proceeds to run up a hill to man the weapon. When he does this, he is sporting a full 80s permed mullet AND a red, burgundy head band. Then a tense showdown happens between Rambo and an unstoppable Russian helicopter war rig armed with rockets of all kinds. Can you guess who wins? That's right, Stallone is left standing. It is purified, classic movie making at its best. I say this is a totally unironic way.
