For the moth game I'm working on with Mothship Studios, I've been sculpting this cocoon and chrysalis for the moth in ZBrush. This will appear at the start of the game and the moth will fly out of it. Today I started the initial research into moth cocoons through putting together a PureRef board, and I realised that a moth cocoon and a moth chrysalis are two different things. The cocoon seems to be a rougher outer external object made up of leaves and debris, whereas the chrysalis is a smoother object inside the cocoon, and the chrysalis follows the general shape of the moth. The chrysalis looks kind of like an exoskeleton. I've been having fun working on the team project because it has challenged me to create a variety of unexpected assets for the game. It's enjoyable to sculpt different organic objects in ZBrush, and I find I'm really getting into sculpting more and more. Next I'll be adding further textures using alphas in ZBrush. #moth #moths #venezuela #venezuelan #venezuelanmoth #mothcocoon #cocoon #zbrush #zbrushsculpt #zbrushart #zbrushcentral #zbrushmodel #zbrushmodeling #sculpt #sculptures #sculpting #gameart #gameartist #gamedesign #gaming #computergame #computergames #computergaming #environmentart #maya #substancepainter #marmoset #unreal #unreal4 #unreal5
