Spectral Knight Witterquick

- A quote from the Spectral Knight called Witterquick, in the 1987 cartoon series 'The Visionaries'.

I spent some time colour matching for this illustration to give it a more retro cartoon look, and to accomplish this I was viewing episodes of 'The Visionaries'.

As I was watching the animated series again, I realised the cartoon has a really ominous, eerie, Post Apocalyptic theme. I haven't ever fully appreciated this before. What I'm talking about is, in the cartoon narrative the advanced civilisation has been destroyed, science has failed, the landscapes are abandoned wastelands, and the skies are various hues of red, pink, and purple.

Making an animated series in 1987 with a Post Apocalyptic theme basically guaranteed that '80s kids would be fans for life of the cartoon haha.
