Catachan Devil

After another 3 hours of drawing, the Catachan Devil from Warhammer 40K is now complete. The Catachan Devil is a nasty, alien millipede monster. A Catachan Devil can crush a Leman Russ under its body weight, and it's a massive beast, but enough Warhammer flexin' from myself (Is Warhammer flexin' even a thing?). A few thoughts about the drawing....I'm really happy with how this has turned out. I've gone with close ups for this series of @draw_for_change Warhammer illustrations to focus on the detailing. Something I like is even though this drawing is representational, the overall artwork has turned out rather abstract. I like the juxtaposition of the two. I really enjoyed drawing the textures on this character. The artwork was made with a 3B graphite stick, on A2 paper, 59cm by 42cm. Graphite sticks are basically bricks of graphite, and they are fun to draw with. They are great to illustrate with because I can cover large areas of paper in a variety of tonal values quickly and easily.
