Animation Backgrounds

When I first graduated I told people I am both an Animator and an Illustrator. As time has gone on my focus has become illustration, but I still love creating animation in its various forms. Here are some backgrounds I created for a project I worked on as a freelance Animator in London. The animation was made largely using After Effects. It was a really fun project to work on and it lasted for the duration of around six weeks. The Director is from Venezuela and he encouraged us to look at a variety of styles of animation for inspiration. What I liked about this was it made me look at drawing styles I wouldn't usually look at, such as French animation. I have a big respect for French animation and comics, and I realised this during this project. Perhaps you can see the different directions I went in whilst I worked on this animation project, in contrast to my usual style of artwork. One aspect I was asked to spotlight on for this animation was texturing.
