Cockroach

I'm currently working with a team of six people called Mothship Studios, and we are developing a game the the title of 'Flight of the Nocturnal'. I'm involved with making both character and environment assets for the game. The main antagonist in 'Flight of the Nocturnal' is a giant spider. We were also considering having cockroachs as enemies, but in the end we have kept the cockroachs neutral for the gameplay, and their purpose for being in the narrative is to add life and animation to the scenes. It's really enjoyable working in Substance Painter and I have definitely taken to using the brush tool to paint the 3D meshes by hand. I used this hand painted technique on the cockroachs, which helped when adding details to the shell, and I would like to specialise in painting 3D assets with the brush tools. I am quite surprised to say that working on this team module has been the most fun project I've worked on to date during my course, because it has challenged me to create a range of 3D assets which I normally wouldn't make.
