Tomorrow is Demo Day for the team project I'm working on, where Dwarven Shroud Studios will be presenting the midpoint stage of our game to Tutors. Today I had a think about how I could best use my time before Demo Day, and I decided to create UVs and textures for this generator. The generators are significant aspects to the gameplay, so I thought they are an important factor which needs to be designed. During the game the Space Dwarf has to discover, gather, and implement each of the generators, to escape the darkness onboard the Spaceport. In terms of influences on this generator design, I'd say it was inspired by 2000 AD Comics and Warhammer 40K, where the design is futuristic, but retro, clunky, and weathered at the same time. These are renders of the generator which I made with Substance Painter, and the 3D model was made using Maya.
