Cessna Skymaster 337

Film is a big inspiration for my art. These are some renders created with Maya, featuring a WIP 3D model I've made of a Cessna Skymaster 337. This particular type of plane appears in the 1997 film The Night Flier.

I like this film a lot because it's a very original and unique addition to vampyre lore. The vampire in the movie is called Dwight Renfield, and he travels about in this make of plane.

I've been working in Maya on this project for a while now, slowly but surely, and I absolutely love using Maya. It's been awesome using the software again.

Something I'm keen to do is to improve my 3D modelling skills regarding vehicles and weapons, and I think creating this 3D model is a step in the right direction. It's enjoyable working with the reference photos of a Cessna Skymaster 337. I have taken artistic license when developing this 3D model, and although it's not an exact match, it's pretty close.

In the near future I plan to post some more renders to show the wireframe and ambient occlusion on the 3D model.
