I've started this week off getting my Vincent on, with an art delivery made up of sunflower artwork I created. The artwork in the top left of this initial photo is the final number from a limited edition run of sunflower linocut prints, and the other 3 brush and ink drawings were prep studies made as development work before I made the prints.
In 2019 I took part in a Mexican Linocut Printmaking course at the Royal West of England Academy in Bristol, United Kingdom. Whilst on the course I created a series of Batmobile 1989 prints, and a series of sunflower prints, because obviously Batman and sunflowers are a classic combo.
At the time I didn't have a purpose for these linocut prints, but since then I have sent a large amount across the world, with a lot going out to the United States. It kind of makes me sad that this is the last print of that batch to get sent out, but something I've learnt is how cool an art method linocut printmaking is. With this technique it's possible to produce a large amount of quality artwork, in an efficient and striking way.
Off to London this final linocut sunflower print goes.
