Life Drawing

I had a great time in life drawing today. This is a portrait I created from a long pose, using willow charcoal, and the focus was to concentrate on light and value. This term I have a new life drawing tutor who is a cool guy and he also teaches on the foundation course over at Truro College. The tutor is quite familiar with places like Bristol and Cheltenham so we had a good chat about that. Today during life drawing he asked me what my art background is, and he said that my artwork is very graphic, with an almost cartoony, caricature look to it, but the drawings are accurate, and there is a sense of a graphic novel style with the strong use of line. Haha I was amazed he could see all of this from just one of my drawings. I explained how I have a BA degree in graphic design and I'm really influenced by comic book art.
